EXAM POLICY

Classes I-V: The school follows a Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation(CCE) system as per CBSE guidelines.  Promotion is based entirely on the 

student’s performance throughout the year and their results from weekly tests. It is mandatory for the student to  achieve at least a grade ‘D’ on the 5-point grading scale, which includes A, B, C, and D. Evaluations will be conducted in  three terms for Classes (I-V): 

 April – July
 August – November
 December – March

Classes VI-XI

The academic year is divided into two terms:
 Term 1: April – September
 Term 2: October – March

Scholastic Evaluation:

o Two Formative Assessments (FA) and one Summative Assessment (SA) will be conducted in each term. 

o Formative Assessments include weekly tests, quizzes, interviews, projects, practical assignments, and  classwork/homework. 

o Summative Assessments will be end-of-term exams, conducted in pen-and-paper format.

Weightage:
o Each Formative Assessment (FA1, FA2, FA3, FA4):10% (Total 40%)

o Each Summative Assessment (SA1, SA2):30% (Total 60%) 

Grading Scale for Scholastic Areas (9-point scale):

o A1 (91-100), A2 (81-90), B1 (71-80), B2 (61-70), C1 (51-60), C2 (41-50), D (33-40), E1 (21-32), E2 (00-20)

 Co-Scholastic Areas: The following co-scholastic areas will also be graded on a 5-point scale (A+, A, B+, B, C):

1. Life Skills: Thinking, emotional, and social skills.
2. Attitude: Towards teachers, school property, environment, school matters, and value systems.
3. Participation and Achievements: In literary, creative skills, scientific skills, aesthetic/performing arts, and clubs (any 2).
4. Health and Physical Education: Includes gardening/shramdan (compulsory), sports, first aid, swimming, or yoga (any 1).
For areas 1(B), 2(A), and 2(B), a 3-point grading scale (A+, A, B) will be used.

Class XI:

 A minimum of 33% in both theory and practical exams is essential, excluding weekly tests.
 Students must score at least a ‘D’ grade in subjects where the grading system is applied.
 Oral exams will not be rescheduled for any reason.
 Answer sheets, except for the annual examination papers, will be returned to students for review and improvement. Annual exam answer sheets
will not be shown to parents, though requests for information can be made in writing. The verification and necessary actions will be communicated
to the relevant persons.
 If the minimum grade of ‘C’ is not achieved in subjects graded with the system, the student will be declared as failing.

General Guidelines:
Oral exams will neither be preponed or postponed under any circumstances.

 Students will receive their corrected answer sheets (except for annual exam answer sheets) to help improve their weaknesses.

 Annual examination answer sheets will not be shown to parents. Written requests for information will be accepted, and necessary actions will be communicated accordingly.
